Alf Pearson (Founder)
Born and bred within a stone's throw of the Market Hall, Alf started his working life as a butcher for the Ashton Co-op where he became a manager in his early 20s. He worked at the Co-op for around twenty years before setting up his own business, A Pearson's Family Butchers, in 1984. Alf's supportive wife, June, worked alongside Alf at the shop and their banter added to the shopping experience for many customers! Alf is now semi-retired and enjoys gardening, caring for his koi carp and is a keen Manchester City supporter.

Mark Pearson
Mark Pearson joined the team within months of the shop opening in 1984. He soon picked up the butchery skills taught by the very capable and patient Perry - and indeed still bears several scars from those early days! It was some years before Alf felt Mark was worthy of having his name joining Alf's above the shop ... A Pearson and Son ... which mum June wholeheartedly supported. Mark has taken on a more managerial role since Alf semi-retired. Mark has a long-suffering wife Roselyn and three grown-up sons.

Joel Pearson
Joel Pearson is the heir to the kingdom of Pearsons Butchers. After training to be a carpenter Joel decided to change his career a few years ago to keep on the family Butcher tradition. Joel is the founder of 'Pearsons Pies' which have been a success at the Butchers now since 2018. In his spare time Joel plays for his local rugby team and enjoys long walks with his very cute dog.

Andrew Hall
Andrew joined the Pearsons team in 1986, having previous experience working in his Dad's butcher business in Droylsden. Perry took Andy under his wing and taught him well. He is a key member of our team, producing many of our award winning burgers and sausages. Outside work, Andy loves working in his garden and spending time with his wife Lynn and their two children.

Gareth Conn
Since leaving school, Gareth has worked as a butcher in the market, initially working alongside his dad David in their successful family butchers. Gareth joined us when David retired aged 88. Outside work, Gareth enjoys watching football, horse racing and golf. You can count on Gareth for his baking tips - especially his famous apple pie!

Eddie Evans
From leaving school, Eddie went straight to butchering and has been there ever since. He worked at a variety of different butchers shops but found his vocation here at Pearsons. He has brought some excellent new ideas to the business. In his spare time he loves walking, photography, dining out and is an avid collector of rare records. He is happily married to Debbie and they share their home with two cats.

Perry Hollingsworth
When Perry left school his mum thought she knew best and asked Alf if he could get him a job working at the Ashton Co-op. The very next week he started working as a butcher in Ashton Market and when Pearsons Butchers was founded in 1984, he was the first employee. Over the years his support has been invaluable as butcher, confidante and key trainer. Apart from lamb chops, Perry loves gardening and spending time in his shed - as well as with his wife Sue, children and grandchildren of course!
